Womble Bond Dickinson, Triangle Japanese Business Association, and Japan American Society of North Carolina co-hosted a "Cybersecurity" seminar followed by a reception. Cybersecurity has continued to have a devastating impact on business and society. Boston Union recently lost $6.4 million over a one-week period due to a recent cyber-attack. As over 50% of global business have experienced a cyber-attack, it has become a priority for business to implement preventive measures and improved security infrastructures to prevent cyber-attacks and data breaches. 

In this seminar, Privacy and Cybersecurity specialist, attorney Tara Cho, discussed the current trends for cyber-attacks; where the majority of the attacks are coming from, what information and who are they targeting, what might we expect in the future, and how global companies could implement preventive measures to protect their assets. Tara chairs Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Team.

Our panelists discussed their opportunities and challenges operating a global business in NC, how they tackle labor retention issues, and their concerns and strategies on battling cybersecurity threats.

This seminar aimed to help global companies successfully advance business in NC and become even more prepared to prevent and mitigate damage from cybersecurity attacks.
